How does overnight parcel delivery work?

Our overnight courier service is ideal for a one-off consignment or regular shipments. A suitable vehicle will arrive at your specified collection point and deliver it to anywhere in the UK the following day.

How do I book my overnight courier?

You can book your overnight parcel delivery by contacting our friendly team. They will help you choose the most suitable, cost-effective vehicle for your overnight parcel delivery and arrange a vehicle to pick up your goods from your desired location.

What information do I need to get a quote?

When you get in touch to arrange your overnight courier, we will ask you about your parcel and where it is going. Please have the following information to hand:

• the address of both the collection and delivery point, including postcodes

• the weight and dimensions of the goods

• a description of the goods

• the delivery deadline.

Do I need to set up an account to arrange an overnight delivery?

To send a package with Priority Express, you do not need to have an account. If you are sending parcels on a regular basis, you may want to consider opening an account. To apply for a credit account, please complete our simple form and we will process your account as quickly as possible, usually within one working day.

How late in the day can overnight deliveries be booked?

It depends on your location. Call our friendly team for personalised information.

Will you collect from anywhere in the UK?

We can offer same day collections within the BS and BA postcode. However, postcodes outside of these will need to be collected the following day. We require 24 hours' notice for all “out of area” collections.

Will your overnight couriers deliver to anywhere in the UK?

Our overnight courier service delivers to anywhere in the UK, except PO boxes and military bases.

Do you offer overnight deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays?

We offer a pre-10am and a pre-12pm Saturday delivery. We currently do not deliver on Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Are there any items I can't send using your overnight delivery service? 

There are some restricted and prohibited goods to be aware of. For more information, please see our Transit Liability and Restricted Item List.

Do I need to label my parcel or will labels be provided?

Upon booking the consignment, you will receive a confirmation email and also a label. This label will need to be printed and put onto the parcel as it will be scanned as it travels throughout the network.

How does my next day delivery need to be packaged?

Whenever you send a parcel, it is important to make sure it is packaged well. Whilst every care will be taken to deliver your overnight delivery safely, a well packaged parcel will reduce any risk of damage. A sturdy box, some brown tape and packing materials like bubble wrap or packing paper will all help to keep your parcel safe during transit.

How quickly will my parcel be collected after making the booking?

We will ask what time your parcel will be ready and the latest time we can collect from you, and arrange a courier to collect within these times. We ask you for a minimum hour window.

Can I track my overnight parcel delivery?

Yes, you can accurately track your overnight courier. Our advanced parcel tracking system allows you to check the status of your parcel at any time, offering you complete peace of mind that your parcel is on track to arrive safely and on time. Will I get proof of delivery?

Our advanced parcel tracking system will confirm when your parcel has been delivered. Simply click here and enter your consignment number and the postcode of the delivery address. You can also contact customer services who may be able to provide you with photos of the delivery or the GPS coordinates of the delivery driver when delivery was made.

Will someone need to be available to sign for the parcel?

Consignments can be left in a safe place. However, these instructions need to be entered onto the consignment prior to sending or arranged with customer services.

What happens if my recipient is not in when my parcel is delivered?

Our courier will leave a ‘Sorry we missed you” card at the recipient's address. They will need to follow the instructions on the card to rearrange delivery or make arrangements to collect the parcel. Please be aware that your parcel may be returned to you if your recipient does not get in touch with us.

Could I incur any additional charges?

Additional charges can be incurred if the delivery address is incorrect on the consignment and the new/correct delivery address is covered by another depot.

Are my goods insured during transit?

Consignments are covered up to £100 or £50 depending on the service booked. As long as you are not sending a restricted item, enhanced liability can be taken in £1000 increments.
